Heritage Village and the associated attractions are located at 157 Private Road 6000, Woodville, TX. Approximately 2 hours from Houston.  

If you’re interested in touring the Clyde Gray House Museum: This is by appointment only. Contact the Village Museum Store for reservations or inquire in the contact form. 

Big Wood Nature Trail: Normal hours follow the times that the Village is open. (9:00 am to 3:00 pm) If you are going to be on the trail after this time, inform the clerk at the Village Museum Store so that you are not locked in the premises. Special after hours permission can be granted, inquire at the Village Museum Store.

For those wishing to visit the Whitmeyer Research Library, the library is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays of the first week and the last week of each month from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm, other days and times by appointment only. 

Hours & Ticket Info

Heritage Village is open daily from 9:00am to 3:00pm for self-guided tours. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. They can be purchased on-site in the Village Museum Store. 

Guided tours are available for individuals and groups and must be booked in advance. 

Groups tours are offered at a discounted rate and include lunch at the Pickett House upon request for an additional cost. Reservations are required. 

School groups are encouraged to visit Heritage Village. For tour groups of 50+, student tickets are $5, and teachers are $10

Heritage Village is open daily from 9:00am to 3:00pm, with the exception of holidays and special events. We recommend checking our website or Facebook page before your visit, just in case these special circumstances apply during your planned visit. 

We’re nestled right off US-190 in Woodville, Texas at 157 PR 6000. If you’re coming from out of town, just plug us into your GPS. You can’t miss us. 

Admission for adults is $10 per person. We do offer reduced rates for children under the age of 12 ($5) and we do special pricing for groups over 20 when booked in advance. 

For daily admission, tickets can be purchased on-site inside the Village Museum Store. For groups and guided tours, tickets must be arranged in advance by contacting the Village by phone or email. For events and festivals, we recommend purchasing tickets in advance to reserve your spot. 

Yes, we have plenty of parking on site and it is completely free. Traveling by RV? We can accommodate large vehicles in our overflow parking. 

Most visitors spend 1-2 hours strolling through the historic buildings and grounds. If you’re planning to enjoy a meal at the Pickett House or walk the nature trail, we recommend giving yourself extra time to soak it all in. 

Absolutely! We love seeing your snapshots of the Village. Just tag us on social media so we can share the fun. If you’re a professional photographer, please contact us about scheduling a session. 

The Pickett House is open 11 am – 2 pm (Mon-Thur) and 11 am – 5 pm (Fri, Sat, Sun). Reservations are not required for small parties, but if you’re bringing a large group, are interested in including the dining experience in a tour, please call or email us in advance so we can make sure we can accommodate your party. 

Of course! Kids love exploring the log cabins, schoolhouse, and, of course, the jailhouse. During events, we often have hands on activities and demonstrations for the kids to enjoy. Additionally, we have a kids activity station where they can use Lincoln logs to construct their own village.
