
At Heritage Village in Woodville, Texas, our volunteers are at the heartbeat of everything we do.
From guiding tours through our 30+ historic buildings to demonstrating traditional crafts during special events, volunteers help connect visitors with the pioneer spirit of East Texas. Whether you’re sharing stories in our one-room schoolhouse, helping maintain our historic structures, or greeting guests at our annual Harvest Festival, you become part of a legacy that spans from the 1840s to the 1920s.
No experience is necessary to volunteer–just a love of history and a desire to share it with others. Our volunteers range from retired teachers and history buffs to college students and families looking to give back to their community. Some dress in period costume during special events, while others work behind the scenes to keep the village running smoothly.
What volunteers do at Heritage Village:
- Lead guided tours for school groups and visitors
- Demonstrate pioneer crafts and skills
